Official: AS Colour lists CORTELA as a decorator.

Some news write themselves. AS Colour is the blanks brand from New Zealand that has long treated merch like streetwear. Now it is adding CORTELA to its official printers & embroiderers directory (ascolour.eu). For many, that is one line in a directory. For us, it is our first official partnership. It is the point where years of conviction become visible.

From band shirts out of England to the flagship store in Amsterdam.

We processed and recommended AS Colour long before anything was official — back when the garments for bands were still shipped from England. The quality survived touring, so it stayed in the programme. That was the whole decision, and it still is.

The rest is not a sales story but one about people: at industry events we got to know Sam from AS Colour. We introduced him to people from the scene, he introduced us to his world. It grew into the kind of friendship this industry rarely produces. When Roman later moved from Stanley/Stella to AS Colour, things grew together even more. At the official launch of the flagship store in Amsterdam, just like when talking shop over burgers and ice cream, it never felt like supplier and customer. More like people with the same goal: merch that feels like a collection.

We recommended AS Colour when it was still the insider tip from New Zealand. Seeing our work officially on their site makes us genuinely proud.

Textiles: where the trend is heading.

What we have seen in enquiries for months: the classic 150-gsm tee is losing ground. Bands, labels and agencies order heavy qualities from 220 gsm, boxier cuts, shorter sleeves — merch that looks like streetwear, not like promo goods. Exactly the corner AS Colour comes from: heavy cotton, a consistent colour palette and cuts that drape after the tenth wash like on day one.

“Premium blanks — built to last.” The statement in the Amsterdam store sums up the trend.

For our clients this means: the AS Colour range is fully on file at CORTELA — fabric data, colours and weight classes. If your next project is heading towards premium blanks, the first call gets you real recommendations instead of catalogue PDFs.

The takeaway

Our first official partnership is here — and it feels exactly like it came about: personal. If your next project should run on heavy blanks, let’s talk.
